The rings present are stunning and the blast itself is the right amount of craggy. If you’re a fan of Peterson pipes but want to step into the world of artisan makers, this is an excellent step in that direction.

This angular egg is a great representation of Nathan’s work. Nathan was featured in Timber & Smoke No. 3 where you can learn more about his path as a pipe maker. This piece has some really wild grain, exemplified by Nathan’s choice in the orientation during the making of this piece. With some slight contrast and an ivorite accent in the stem, this pipe is a great smoker to add to your collection.

Patrick was featured in Timber & Smoke No. 4 where you can see more of his work and learn more about Patrick as an artisan. When Patrick shared this piece with me, I wasn’t so sure of how I felt. However, upon receiving it, it is a fantastic pipe. The deep red and black staining present an almost blood-like color. The smooth rim is a great detail allowing some of that color to come forward even more. The most interesting detail though is the natural, blasted-briar accent in the stem. It is such a unique detail that adds so much to the pipe.
